Title: Whispered Prayers of a Girl
Author: Alex Grayson
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: Live Now!

Her whispered prayers break her...

At night, as she’s drifting off to sleep, I press my ear to the door and listen to her heart wrenching pleas to bring her father back. Her words are agony to my healing heart, but I cherish the sound of them, for that’s the only time I ever hear my beautiful daughter speak. Since her father died two years ago, she’s grown quiet and withdrawn. Catalina’s
Valley is to be our new beginning, a place where my family and I can heal, but what we find there is so much more.

Scars mar his body. Pain has darkened his life…

Three years ago, I lost the two things I cherished most in the world. They were ripped from my arms in the most painful and cruel way. Since then, I’ve kept to myself, preferring to stay away from the pitying looks and the uttered rumors. Everything changed when she and
her children barged into my life. It was an accident, not meant to happen, but I wonder if maybe it was.

A tortured soul meets a damaged heart…

A lonely man, a widowed woman, a carefree boy, and a broken girl… Can the four come together and help heal each other? Or will fear of the unknown and guilt of the past keep them apart?

This was a heart wrenching, soul searching kind of book that drags you into its emotional depths from the very beginning.

Alexander is living with the guilt and despair from the past so much so that he is just surviving. He is a loner who lives by himself with his horses to look after and his beloved dog and her pups. Other than that he has little time or want to interact with the outside world. He copes with his outside scars by refusing to see them but whenever he catches himself in the mirror he gets flash backs to that fateful evening when he lost his world, that reminds him of his inner deepened scars that he knows he will never recover from. But then fate steps in and a young mother and her two children take shelter at his home from a snow storm and things will never be the same again for all of them.

Gwendolyn (Gwen) is a young widow, trying her best to bring up her young son and daughter on her own. Her daughter, Kelsey has been mute since the day her father died and all Gwen longs to hear again is the beautiful voice of her child. When she gets stranded in a snow storm she is shocked to see the loner man she saw once in the grocery store, come to their rescue. Over the few days they are thrown together Gwen can see the deep hurt this man is going through and little by little she and her children start to chip away that pain and bring a new hope to the future. However when two people have gone through the ultimate pain, it takes a considerable length of time and effort before they can even bridge that gap that divides them.

This is a standalone romance about second chances, that is so enriched in it story that the emotive states I was taken to went from desperate lows to the extreme highs. Tissues are required but after all the angst, drama and despair this pair went through it was a supreme joy when they found their happy ever after.

This book was so emotive, heart-warming and dramatic but it gave me so much more that the only criticism I have at all is that it had to end. I wanted it to go on and on. A massive five star read that I urge you to read and devour. Marvellous read. Five trillion stars.
