Review
The third in the Starcrossed series, although Wicked Heart can be read as a standalone and one definitely not to be missed. I absolutely loved every single second of it!

Six years ago, Liam Quinn and Elissa Holt were on the cusp of a beautiful love but then another light shone and Liam was gone from her life. But now he is back again, a hot shot movie star taking the stage on Broadway with his hot fiancé. How fickle is fate when Elissa is set as the stage manager. She vows to keep her heart protected and not yearn for what could have been. After being left broken all those years ago, Elissa has learned to guard her heart and never let anyone break her again. But then she didn’t reckon on the close proximity to Liam again and how those pent up feelings from yesteryear just kept on pushing to be out there.

Oh I so love this author and the way she can pull and yank at your heartstrings. I was an emotional wreck by the end of the book but in such a good way. I was in such a book hangover though when I came to the end. I just yearned to be back with Liam and Elissa so darn much.

Lisa Rayven just knows how to write a strong, likeable (even loveable) woman in her books. I had Elissa’s back throughout the book. But then I also fell for Liam. I just could not imagine the sexy lovable guy from the beginning of the book could be this unfeeling cad. I needn’t have worried as I know this author likes to make the reader earn the brilliant crescendo of an ending she always delivers. So even though I wanted to hate Liam I just couldn’t. There was always this little soupçon of something in the back of my mind just knowing all was not as it seemed. However I won’t divulge as the brilliance of this read is one to be earnt, felt and devoured in the rollercoaster of emotive read this book is. Absolute brilliance!

Let me just get this out there as some readers may be worried about that blurb. OK – there is NO CHEATING! None. So yes there is plenty of angst, heart wrenching, gut churning and ultimate soul bearing in this story but there is also plenty of passion, intensity, chemistry (bucket loads!) but ultimately love. No cheating. The emotions that were wrung out of me had me giggling like a buffoon one minutes to ugly crying the next then to throwing tantrums. Gah! Loved it!

When the big reveal and heart stopping moment happens it just threw me. I did not see that one coming, not AT ALL. OMG sheer brilliance. Amazing. I simply cannot recommend this book any higher. It is one of the best if not THE best book of this year. You must read this. MUST. Five spine tingly stars!
