She’s fighting for control. . . . Paige Roberts learned to fend for herself growing up. Now she’s doing everything possible to give her daughter, Casey, the stability she never had. But when the vivacious five-year-old decides she’s done wearing her prosthesis, Paige faces her toughest challenge yet: trusting a handsome, brooding stranger who simply wants to help.

He’s struggling to connect. . . . JT McKinney lost more than his leg in a car accident that stole his dreams of pro football. Eight years later, he’s made a new life for himself far away from his old one. His business is developing cutting-edge prosthetics and he’s more than happy to turn his attention to machines instead of people. Still, he can’t shake the feeling that something’s missing.

Will they take a chance on love? . . . When JT gets the chance to help Paige’s daughter, he takes it. He never planned on the two of them tearing down his walls or teaching him to believe in himself again. Paige might not believe in happily ever afters, but JT wants more than anything to be her prince. They’ll both have to let go of the past if they want a future.

Review

The third book in the McKinney Brothers series, continued as the prior two – a totally smash. I really love this series.

Jake ‘JT’ McKinney is the youngest of the brothers, having seen his older siblings all leave and find love and then to go through his own personal nightmare, he has become distant from his family. Now living in California he has built up a specialised business with a good reputation. However something is missing from his life and when he sees the young waitress in the diner he starts to take an interest in life outside his business.

Paige has struggled to bring up her young daughter on her own after her deadbeat boyfriend took off. Not only is she trying to manage her jobs, she also has her young daughter consider and her disability. When she meets Jake, she is startled to realise just how much they have in common. When he steps forward to help her daughter, this just brings them closer together and a budding friendship then romance develops.

This was a sweet and sexy story and a great addition to the series. It was great to catch up with the other brothers and their wives, the families and all those kids! This story was some ten years later from when the series began so it was interesting to read how the other brother’s relationships had continued after their HEA. I just love the family feel in these books. There is just something so endearing that you can’t help getting enraptured and involved in the storylines, so much so that everything else just drifts away.

There was plenty of passion, intensity and chemistry going on as well. These brothers sure know how to treat a woman, they are just swoon worthy and JT is no different. He is lush! As for the connection between JT and Casey, aww it was just so sweet and the way he was able to give that little girl so much confidence and not treat her any differently. This guy is amazing!

I do hope there are more to come as I am missing these brothers already. Fantastic book and brilliant series. Five stars.
