This is the third book in the Rock God series and I
absolutely loved it. The whole ambiance of this series is totally absorbing and
intense. I just can’t get enough.
This is Cooper and Jayson’s story and what a
fabulous one it is!
Cooper Rand is the drummer with Ivory Tower and good friend
of Alex Metcalf. Alex is in a tripod relationship with Chase and Danni who are
best friends of Jayson Keller. Cooper and Jayson meet at a party thrown by
Alex.
At the end of book two, Take What you Want, gave a glimpse of
things to come with Cooper and Jayson and I have been anticipating the release
of Make You Mine as I was just itching to get right on down to see what sparks
would fly with these two characters.
Cooper has had a lively past of hook ups with both male and
female, lots of threesomes, foursomes and a few moresomes! What he never
envisioned was a lasting relationship ever. That is until he meets Jayson with
their first interaction on the beach at the party. Oh what a meeting that was
with that scorching kiss!
Jayson has lived his life mostly in the closet, so much so
that even his best friend Chase had no idea that he was gay. Jay had been in a
relationship of convenience with another guy away from his home shores to keep
his private life private. He fears the rejection of his family and friends should
they ever find out, especially that of his step father who has never been one
to accept Jay even as a son, let alone anything else. But he has always held
out on hoping that one day he could find somebody worth ‘coming out’ for and
finally being his true self.
This was a really great storyline and the relationship build
up was believable and at a ready pace. Yes there were instances of
misunderstanding and angst from both sides waiting for that call. But the
sexual awareness and tension was built with immense intensity and wanting, you
could actually feel it simmering from the kindle. These men were so
unbelievably sexy together it made my jaw drop, frequently!
I loved how there was no need to throw in a back story and
that it was totally on the love story of Coop and Jay. The touching confessions
and gradual belief in their future was with each other was so beautiful to see
evolve. The ease in which they are in front of the band was gorgeous, especially
with their ‘love you’ and ‘love you too’ and the hand intertwining fingers. Oh
my heart fluttered!
It was also great to keep up with Dagger and Ryan (we get to
see their wedding again) and also Alex, Chase and Danni’s wedding. Wheland was
a bit of a rat at first when he felt Coop could still be a hook up for him but
lovely when he realised it was the real deal for Coop and Jay, which in turn
made him left wanting for much the same himself (after he admits who his true
self is!) I see good things to come for Wheland (and I hope that is the next
book!)
There is nothing I did not love about this book and even
though it is a lengthy read (great value for money!) I could have read more and
more. I just didn’t want to leave them at the end. So much so I was left with
total book hangover after I had read it which just goes to show what a fabulous
book it is. Definitely a re-read in store in my future and a definite recommend
to all if you love a good sexy intense m/m romance with lot of hot rock stars, smoking
construction workers, fantastic locations and a great love story. Brilliant!
Ann Lister is a native New Englander currently living on the island of Martha's Vineyard with her husband. She has pulled details from her years living in the New England area and uses many local settings and landmarks in her novels.
After graduating art school and raising two daughters, she established her own video production company. Her nearly two decades working in video production included work within the music industry and won her a coveted Telly Award. It was this 'behind-the-scenes' exposure to the music world that inspired many of her novels.
In 2013 she released Book One of her new rock star series: The Rock Gods. Book One is titled, Fall For Me. This novel is her first full-length gay, erotic romance and it is also a Finalist novel for the 2013 Rainbow Award.
Book Two in the Rock Gods series is titled, Take What You Want. This story is a m/m/f menage and released in early November 2013. Book Three, titled: Make You Mine, was released in Spring 2014.
When not writing, she enjoys reading, creating stained glass, and traveling.
