Promo for Underground Erotica - Bite Me by Kate Lowell

Welcome to the Underground!

The erotica authors of the Absolute Write are taking you underground—sometimes literally, sometimes figuratively.

Karenna Colcroft’s haunting story gives sex in public an unexpected twist, and Erin Lark makes waiting out a storm into something special—and hot!— before Kate Lowell draws you deep into a cave for a steamy encounter. Lauren Gallagher sends you back to the 1930s for some gambling, bootlegging, and a little forbidden ménage, while Maryn Blackburn brings two enemies together in the wintery depths of World War II.

If you’re in the mood for something extra spicy, you’ll love how C.P. Foster opens up a very new world for a curious barmaid. And stick around because Cleo Peitsche and Jack L. Pyke keep the kink coming.

Come join us—but fair warning. Once you go underground, you may never want to come back…

All proceeds from this anthology benefit the Absolute Write online community.

Foxylutely welcomes Kate Lowell to the blog today - here she gives an overview of her experience of Absolute Write fundraising and an exclusive excerpt of her story - Bite Me.

When I first heard about this fundraising idea for Absolute Write, I was a baby author who’d only been a part of the community for a couple of months. But, what a couple of months! I learned enough about how to put together a story, how to make it readable, and what to expect in the publishing industry that, when the call came along, I felt confident enough to try my hand at writing something and actually submitting it. (I’d been pretty good at the first part up until then, but not so excellent at the second.)

I was baffled at the idea of trying to come up with something interesting around the theme of Underground. So many options—so few brain cells, it appeared, to do anything with them. In the end (and in a panic!), I went with a literal interpretation of it—probably influenced by a recent rereading of Diana Gabaldon’s series and a BBC documentary about caves. Okay, very influenced the Outlander series—notice the character named Jaime (not an accident).

I hope I someday get the chance to follow up with Jaime and Henry. There’s this scene with a kilt…you see, I’m not the only fan of Scotsmen.

Excerpt

"You know I'm only doing this because you asked me, right?" I reached forward to take the hand he held out to me. The feel of his calluses against my own less work worn hands made me catch my breath a moment.

Suddenly, I was willing to do just about anything to have this whole thing over, so we could go home and I could feel those calluses slide over other portions of my anatomy. God, how I loved his hands.

"You're doing great! It's not far now." He helped me across the slick stones, holding me up when my feet slipped in the damp and wrapping an arm around my waist. Once, my feet went out completely from underneath me and I fell. My hero, Jaime caught me just in time to keep me from becoming a—not so—virgin sacrifice to the gods of the earth.

If I hadn't been almost completely speechless with both nerves and desire at that point, I would have begged out loud to go home. From my point of view, this was as bad as playground sports when I was a kid—always too slow, always in the way. The dweeb. Jaime made it different, both more and less scary at the same time. I didn't want to do it, but I also didn't want to disappoint him.

I took a deep breath and Jaime took a kiss, which was a very nice way to end a breath. I tried to keep the kiss going but he was determined to drag me further into the abyss, so I sighed and made sure I got to keep one of his hands for my trouble. He grinned at me, as if he knew what I was thinking, but it was worth it for the hand.

And I was going to need it. In front of us, the cave narrowed until it looked like a ten year old wouldn't fit through.
